SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- As the temperatures begin to drop and winter rolls in on Central New York, one thing expected to stick around is the construction involved with the I-81 Viaduct Project.

"This is a transformation project," I-81 Viaduct Project Director, Elizabeth Parmley, said. "There's a lot of work happening. We want to just keep moving, keep this project rolling, so we can get in and get out and stop disrupting people's commuting patterns."

Several projects will be winding down by the end of 2024. The Southern Business Loop 81 is expected to open, as well as nearby ramps, which are favorable to commuters who have not been able to use them for about two years.
