EVANSVILLE, Ky. (WEHT) -- It's day 28 of the federal government shutdown and many organizations in the tristate are preparing to help families impacted by the risk of snap benefits being stopped in November.
As the nation feels the shutdown's impacts in the Tri-State, organizations across multiple counties are working as one to help people in need. Saint Paul's Episcopal Church in Evansville has started an emergency food pantry for its community. The pantry will give people something with protein, fruit and carbs.
""We consider it kind of emergency because it's, you're not going to have three well-balanced meals, but you will have at least two meals that can tide you over," says Rector Holly Rankin Zaher.
