HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) - With assistance programs like SNAP set to expire later this week, organizations across the Tri-State are preparing for a rise in the need for food assistance.

Officials with the nonprofit Young & Established say they have already seen an increase in the number of families coming to its weekly food giveaways.

As November 1 approaches, many food pantries have announced plans to help those in need. Executive Director Courtney Johnson says his organization is ready.

We're all supposed to come together. We're all supposed to serve and figure out what we can do to help our families, and to me, that's something that we've been doing.
