HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Students and volunteers turned a house on Kaka-Hiaka Street turned into a magical walkthrough exhibition to raise money for Habitat for Humanity in Maui.

About 35 middle and high school students spent every Sunday for the last couple months volunteering their time to create the weekend-long annual event.

In their seventh year of putting on this event, they created nine shops from the fictional Diagon Alley.

More than 1,800 people visited the Hogwarts event, some driving an hour and waiting in line to see the magical display, according to organizers.

The event raised $28,700, a boost from the previous year’s event.

A donor will match the final, which will bring the total amount raised to almost $60,000.

They plan to do it all again next year.
