MANCHESTER, Conn. (WTNH) -- The Manchester Police Department has formally charged the man who was shot by an officer during a traffic stop on Interstate 84 on Saturday morning.

According to the department, 39-year-old Samuel Lee was arraigned on Tuesday and charged with first-degree attempted assault, assault on public safety personnel, criminal firearm possession, unlawful discharge of a firearm, interfering with an officer, driving with a suspended license, reckless driving and improper use of a marker plate.

Lee is being held on a $1 million court-set bond and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Wednesday, Nov. 12.

At around 1:42 a.m. on Saturday, officers stopped Lee while he was driving on the 350 block of Center Street for alleged driving violations. Police said
