ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – With nearly half a million people in New Mexico set to lose snap benefits because of the government shutdown, a farm in the metro is opening up its fields to allow families to stock up on fresh produce for free.

"We as farmers, we have so much in our fields and we just thought it would be nice to offer to the community," explained Chantelle Wagner, a fifth-generation farmer at Big Jim Farms.
