PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - While an employee at Bins and Barrels Liquor suffered a heart attack on the job, a man allegedly pretended to help but then snuck into a back office and stole between $700-800 dollars.
What started as a regular work day at the liquor store, located on Southeast 122 nd Avenue, quickly turned into a nightmare. Around 6 p.m. on Saturday, 53-year-old Jason Hay suffered a heart attack during his shift.
“When he went behind the registers, all of a sudden he just crashed down face first,” said Michelle Maurer, the store manager.
As another employee and a group of customers helped Hay and called 911, Maurer said she saw a man come into the store. Maurer said according to surveillance footage, the man appeared to have been helping Hay as he laid on the ground.
