HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — With thousands in Madison County expected to lose the support of SNAP benefits on November 1, many are growing concerned for their neighbors.
The team at Metro Diner off Airport Road in Huntsville is looking for a way to support those who will need a little extra help putting food on the table in the coming weeks. Through the month of November, they will be hosting a food drive.
"We just want to help everybody that we can," said Ashley Bond, who is heading up the drive.
Because Metro Diner has a fridge and freezer, they can accept perishable items, like meats and dairy, in addition to non-perishable foods.
