FRANKFORT, Ky. —

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear is among several governors suing the Trump administration over the looming suspension of SNAP benefits.

The move would impact food assistance for millions of Americans, including more than 595,000 SNAP recipients in Kentucky.

On Tuesday, a lawsuit was filed by 25 states and the District of Columbia, suing the U.S. Department of Agriculture and its secretary, Brooke Rollins, for suspending benefits during the shutdown.

The lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
