GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - East Carolina University parents and students are expressing concerns after a fourth rape was reported on campus this month , with many saying they learned about the incidents from our reporting rather than university alerts.

The latest report, classified as second-degree forcible rape, was reported to police Monday and occurred Oct. 14 at Scott Hall, according to ECU crime logs. The university did not send out an alert about the rape.

“I just think that’s crazy. In two weeks, four rapes? That’s like... insane,” said Seanna O’Connor, a Scott Hall resident.

Heather Graham, whose son is a freshman at ECU, said she has a problem with the university’s decision not to alert the campus community.
