KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) - With Election Day quickly approaching, candidates for mayor in the City of Kinston are ramping up their campaign efforts.
Two candidates remain on the ballot for the Kinston mayoral seat in this year’s election after candidate Tavaris R. Moore dropped out of the race.
Incumbent Don Hardy is running for reelection, and candidate Kareem Moore will also be vying for the seat.
Hardy who has been in the seat since 2017 says he’s running again to finish what he started.
“For the third term, I’m excited about expanding upon the things that we’ve done thus far as it relates to recruiting small businesses downtown, strategic plans we’re putting in place for infrastructure needs relating to roadways, public utility stuff, water and sewer infrastructure needs,” he said.
