LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Officials will break ground on a new police substation in the northwest Las Vegas valley on Wednesday, the beginning of a $27.2 million project.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department substation will be at 9735 Hualapai Way, near the corner of Hualapai and Grand Teton Drive.

The Wednesday, Oct. 29, ceremony will include officials from the city of Las Vegas, Metro police and Clark County. It is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.

In addition to the substation, the site will include a new 2-acre park with three picnic pavilions, a skate park, a walking trail and a playground. The park, expected to be finished by early 2027, is partially funded by a $1 million donation from Green Valley Grocery.
