A suspect accused of home invasion has been arrested.

Jesse Rey Dennis, 21 of Porterville, has been arrested.

At about 10:20 p.m. Saturday Porterville Police Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of East Putnam Avenue, regarding a report of a male subject, not known to the homeowner, who had made entry into the occupied residence.

An officer arrived on scene and located the suspect concealing himself on the front porch, where verbal commands were provided to the suspect. He initially complied, but upon contact by the officer he immediately began to resist arrest.

The suspect, identified as Dennis, was ultimately arrested. It was learned Dennis had entered into the backyard of the property and caused approximately $150 worth of damages to the rear fence.
