BOWLING GREEN — Three weeks after falling in four sets at the University of Toledo, the Bowling Green State University volleyball team gained a split in the Battle of I-75 with a 3-0 sweep Tuesday at the Stroh Center.
The Falcons (13-11, 7-5 Mid-American Conference) claimed a 26-24, 25-20, 29-27 victory in front of 2,272 fans. They remain in a tie for fourth in the MAC with Ohio, which defeated Kent State 3-0 on Tuesday.
Toledo (17-7, 8-4) dropped out of a second-place tie with Western Michigan and is now in third after the Broncos swept Northern Illinois on Tuesday. Ball State, which defeated Miami (Ohio) 3-0 on Tuesday after suffering its first conference loss Saturday against Ohio, is two matches clear of the field in first place.
