RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - All six defendants in the fake electors case appeared via Zoom on October 27, 2025, in Carson District Court.

That’s after a Justice of the Peace in the Capital City determined last Friday October 24, 2025, that there was enough evidence in the case to hold the defendants over for trial.

The defendants, Michael McDonald, James Degraffenreid, Jesse Law, Shawn Meehan, Durward Hindle, and Elain Rice all face forgery charges.

The six appeared on video on December 14, 2020, allegedly casting electoral votes for Donald Trump when in fact, a majority of Nevadans voted for Joe Biden.

Judge James Russell spelled out what charges the defendants face.

“One count uttering a forged instrument, forgery, a category D felony.”
