A 2-year-old boy died at a Dauphin County hospital after he was pulled from a pond in rural Lancaster County last week , according to Pennsylvania State Police.
The boy on Oct. 23 was taken to Penn State Hershey Medical Center in critical condition after he fell into a pond on the 1000 block of Mine Road in Salisbury Township.
Pennsylvania State Police originally said the boy was 4 years old. However, a public information officer on Tuesday said the boy was 2 years old and the previous age provided was a mistake.
The boy was taken off life support at the hospital on Sunday, state police said.
No further information about the incident or the boy’s name has been made publicly available.
