DEFIANCE COUNTY, Ohio — Two people were killed, one person was hospitalized with critical injuries and four others, including a 3-year-old, suffered minor injuries in two separate crashes in Defiance County on Tuesday.

The first crash happened at the intersection of U.S. 127 and state Route 249 west of the village of Ney at 11:21 a.m., according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

A 26-year-old woman from Toledo was driving an SUV with a 3-year-old in the passenger seat in the back east on the state route when she did not yield at a stop sign at the intersection with U.S. 127. She was then hit by a motorhome traveling north on U.S. 127, according to OSHP.
