BOONTON — Clementine Dickson-Child has played in a handful of shootouts in her hockey career. But they were all on the ice, not the turf.

Dickson-Child only started playing field hockey as a Madison freshman. Up until then, she'd been an ice hockey goalie – for a boys team in Saratoga, California, and then with both the Dodgers boys and girls.

Though anxious, Dickson-Child channeled what she'd learned at the rink. Sort of.

The Dodgers had her back, coming out of a marathon Morris County Tournament final with a 2-1 victory against West Morris on Oct. 28. It is the second year in a row Madison has topped the Wolfpack to bring home the MCT plaque, and their record 25th since the event began in 1977.
