NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) - The North Charleston Police Department (NCPD) met with the community discussing issues and any questions that people had.
The town hall featured respectful dialogue from residents and chief of police Ron Camacho, alongside his department leaders. They discussed ways to improve trust and communication with the public.
"We'll put together a class and we'll partner up with non-profits all over North Charleston," Camacho said. "We'll teach kids how to interact with us during stops, how to interact during car stops, and teach them the law."
Some residents expressed mistrust of police after incidents like what happened earlier this summer when police were called to a gas station on Rivers Avenue, where a teenager was handcuffed after reports of vandalism at the
