BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — He was a noncommissioned officer sergeant in the Army Military Police and spent his time serving our country from 1972-1975. Paul Sundquist, full of memories, soke with KX News and shared his story in today's Veterans Voices.
"Well, I don't know how far back you want to go, back to when the ping pong ball said 18, it was time for me to go to the recruiter," he said.
At 20 years old in 1972, Sundquist was drafted into the military, all from a ping pong ball.
"I just talked to a guy the other day when I was walking and he goes, my draft number was 332 so I didn't worry about it," he said. "Well, my number was 18. I knew where I was going."
From there, Sundquist went off to Germany to serve at the tail end of the Vietnam War as a noncommissioned sergeant in the Army
