BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - A club at Bryan High School is hosting a summit focused on preventing substance use in schools.

Vikings Kicking Out Tobacco, VKOT, works to raise awareness on the dangers of smoking, vaping, alcohol consumption, and drug use through events like the Intermediate Summit.

Club officers said about 137 people are registered to attend this year’s summit. They want attendees to be able to take the information back to their schools.

“This is a good opportunity to get the youth to learn more about the dangers so they can stop the potential use of it when they get to middle school and high school,” said Jonathan Ferrazas, a Bryan High School senior.
