PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) - Dunlap boys soccer advanced to a 2A sectional title game after an improbably comeback in overtime against Kankakee Monday night in Galesburg.
The Eagles led 1-0 with 22 minutes remaining in regulation when the Kanes tied. 10 minutes later, a Dunlap player was red-carded, leaving the Eagles down to 10 men.
Dunlap had a chance to win it in the 76th minute after a Kankakee handball in the penalty box, but the PK was shot too high. The game went to overtime tied 1-1.
No goals were scored in the first ten-minute period. In the second, Kankakee scored with just six minutes to go. With their backs against the wall, Jackson Orris scored his second goal of the match in the final three minutes to send the game to a PK shootou.
