Matt Campbell says his team’s character will help them overcome losing skid

AMES, Iowa (KCRG) - Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell reflected on the type of player he likes to recruit.

He’s called them “OKG’s” (our kinda guy). He says OKG’s have ahigh character, not matter if they win or lose. He’s confident his players will come out of this losing skid.

“Character does matter at this place. This is fitting for this time of year: Can you build a team you can lose with first?” Campbell said Tuesday. “You’re gonna go through hard. Can we just keep growing?”

“The world doesn’t see that right now, but they will soon, that this group is gonna come through this in a really powerful way. They haven’t waivered, they haven’t allowed results to dictate their character.”
