Delhi Police has arrested a 59-year-old man for allegedly running an espionage and fake passport racket with suspected links to foreign contacts, including a nuclear scientist based abroad, officials said on Tuesday.
According to sources, the accused, identified as Mohammad Adil Hussaini and also known by the names Syed Adil Hussain, Nasimuddin and Syed Adil Hussaini, had travelled to multiple countries, including Pakistan, and was in touch with a nuclear scientist overseas.
Police suspect that Hussaini may have been passing sensitive information abroad. Officials, however, declined to comment on the alleged scientist link, calling it a matter of ongoing inquiry.
During the search, cops recovered one original and two forged Indian passports from Hussaini's possession. He is also accused
