CLEVELAND — Air traffic controllers and TSA workers in Cleveland and elsewhere are working hard to keep flights safe, but some are starting to feel the weight of the government shutdown as they go without their salaries.
Inside Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, TSA officers are getting some relief through a new food pantry. Donations from other airport employees and city staffers are helping those working without pay get essential items.
"We get the word out internally to all of our employees, whether that's the city of Cleveland, airport employees, or others — airlines, concessions," Megan O'Connell, assistant director of communications for the Cleveland Department of Port Control, told 3News.
