Hundreds of families gathered at the Castle Hill Houses in the Bronx over the weekend for the sixth annual Easter Egg Hunt.

The event was hosted by state Assemblymember Karines Reyes with help from other local leaders, including state Sen. Nathalia Fernandez. Organizers say the goal is to foster a sense of connection and provide a joyful day for families.

“We do this to provide enjoyment to the kids in our community and to provide important information on vital services for families,” said Justin Westbrook-Lowery, chief of staff for Reyes.

“Families get to come out, spend time with their loved ones, their kids,” parent Alecia Moore said. “Kids get to enjoy themselves, away from video games, television — just being outside in the outdoors is good.”
