Chennai: A Rapido bike taxi driver was arrested by the Vanagaram police on charges of sexually harassing a 21-year-old female passenger during a ride in the city. The accused, identified as Sivakumar, was subsequently remanded to judicial custody following a complaint filed by the victim, a native of Tripura who has been working in Chennai for the past five years.

The incident unfolded when the woman booked a Rapido bike from her workplace in Maduravoyal to visit a relative in Pallikaranai. After completing the initial trip, the woman requested that Sivakumar wait and then take her back to Maduravoyal. It was during this return journey that the driver allegedly committed the offense, using the pretext of needing to relieve himself near the Porur toll booth to harass the passenger.
