A rescue helicopter crash in Nepal’s Everest region left the pilot with minor injuries but no fatalities.

The incident occurred near Lobuche Mountain in Khumbu on October 29, 2025.

An Altitude Air helicopter, piloted solo by Captain Vivek Khadka, crash-landed amid heavy snowfall during a rescue mission from Lukla. The aircraft was en route to assist stranded tourists in the high-altitude Khumbu region. Despite the harsh conditions, the pilot escaped with minor injuries and was rescued swiftly.

Local authorities confirmed no passengers were on board. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has launched an investigation into the crash. Officials are examining possible causes, including mechanical failure and adverse weather.
