The final week of the regular season has arrived for NCHSAA football , which means teams have one last chance to boost their playoff resumes for a revamped postseason.

With the number of classifications among NCHSAA teams doubled to eight this year, seedings are based on the NCHSAA RPI formula, with 48 teams qualifying in each classification from 1A-7A and the top 16 (eight from the East and eight from the West) earning a first-round bye. Conference standings will not be factored into seedings, a change from the old formula of giving league champs top seeds.

Playoff brackets will be released Sunday, Nov. 2, with the state playoffs kicking off Friday, Nov. 7 . Regional finals will be contested on Friday, Dec. 5, with state title games being played Dec. 11-13 .
