A new state law preventing medical debt from appearing in a consumer credit report officially took effect on Oct. 27.
First signed into law by Gov. Matt Meyer this past July, the Medical Debt Protection Act protects Delawareans with medical debt from being unfairly or unjustly treated when it comes to employment, housing or other credit-related opportunities.
