BRONX, NY — A trusted teacher’s aide at a Bronx elementary school led a chilling double life, luring young children with games and snacks before sexually abusing them in school bathrooms and classrooms — acts that have now landed him behind bars for nearly two decades.

Cesar Ortega Licona, 38, was sentenced Monday to 17 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually abusing 10 children — some as young as 8 — over a nearly year-long period at P.S. 30 Wilton School. The abuse happened between March and December, carried out in plain sight of school officials, according to prosecutors.
