EVANSVILLE — Local organizations are asking for help as thousands of families and individuals are set to lose their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits starting Saturday, Nov. 1.
Churches, food banks and other charitable groups that host meals and food pantries have already seen an uptick in usage as grocery prices have increased and utility costs soared in the Evansville area. In Western Kentucky, the Salvation Army is launching an emergency food campaign in response to a rise in need over the past few months.
