After a decision made by the Girl Scout brass in Phoenix led to the lease of Camp Stephens being terminated in March, Grace Ricca and her crew at Friends of Camp Stephens decided to step in. The group's wasn't just looking to save the camp, but to bring it back to life for local youth to enjoy like they once did.

Friends of Camp Stephens has been putting in the work to revive the camp for months, and now the non-profit organization is officially leasing the property from the county. The lease runs for ten years, with an annual rent of $10 - the exact same terms the Girl Scouts enjoyed for more than 60 years.
