Bhubaneswar: Cyclone ‘Montha’ has impacted 33 blocks and 11 urban areas across Odisha, said Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari on Wednesday.

The minister assured that the government is fully equipped to handle the aftermath and has made all necessary arrangements to ensure the safety of residents.

“Around 19,000 people were evacuated from vulnerable areas, including 2,198 pregnant women who were shifted to safe shelters. Free kitchens have been set up at 362 locations, serving cooked meals to over 18,700 people,” Pujari said.

He added that the Odisha government coordinated with departments such as Water Resources, Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water, Rural Development, Energy, Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment, and Fisheries & Animal Resources Development to prepare at
