CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WTVD) -- New details was uncovered in a preseason fundraising trip to Saudi Arabia made by top officials within the UNC-Chapel Hill football program.

Documents showed the trip was for General manager Michael Lombardi and Assistant General Manager Lance Thompson. They went to the Capital City of Riyadh and stayed for four days.

ABC11 I-Team was also able to obtain email correspondence between members of the finance program at UNC. It showed the trip was finalized quickly, and Chancellor Lee Roberts did know about it.

As previously reported, the university said the general manager traveled there at the request of the Saudi national, who is a college football fan and expressed interest in supporting coach Belichick. However, the university did say no money was donate
