HUNTSVILLE, Texas (KBTX) - The man connected to a fatal shooting in Huntsville has been indicted for capital murder in Walker County. The shooting happened in August, near Huntsville ISD schools. It prompted several schools to enact lockout protocols during the first day of school.

Huntsville police arrested 19-year-old Marquel Wiley back in August. Police say he shot two people on Essex Boulevard before running off to a wooded area.
Wiley was indicted in October 2025 on charges of capital murder, aggravated assault on a family member with a deadly weapon, and 2 counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
