PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) -- When looking for places to work across the country, the Old Dominion might not be the first to come to mind for most people around the United States. But a new study by WalletHub suggests that Virginia is the 13th best state to find a job in 2025.
The study compared the 50 states across 34 key indicators of job-market strength and economic health to determine the best places to work.
Ranking as one of 11 states in the top 20 in both the job market and economic environment categories, Virginia finished 13th overall.
The study additionally ranked Virginia fifth in terms of the number of job opportunities offered in the state.
