HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) -- Multiple people are now without a home following a fire in Hampton Tuesday afternoon.

According to officials, crews were called to the 700 block of S. Armistead Avenue at just before 4 p.m. for the report of a residential structure fire. When crews arrived, they found smoke coming from the third floor of the home.

All occupants evacuated the home prior to firefighters arrival.

When crews made an attack, they found the fire was coming from the attic. Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire and marked it out at 4:39 p.m.

Four adults and one child are now displaced and being assisted by the American Red Cross.

No injuries were reported.

The fire is under investigation.
