TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - As Hurricane Melissa continues to wreak havoc on the Caribbean, the nightmare is just beginning for Jamaica.
Hurricane Melissa made landfall Tuesday as a Category 5 storm with catastrophic 185 mph winds, making it the most powerful hurricane to ever strike the island.
For Eva Henry-Hall, a Tucson resident originally from Jamaica, the past few days have been stressful.
“It’s scary,” Henry-Hall said looking at the destruction online.
She’s been glued to social media, watching Hurricane Melissa tear through her home country from over 2,000 miles away.
“About Friday we heard it on the news. So, I’ve been watching the path of it since then,” Henry-Hall said.
Eva was born in Jamaica and migrated to the U.S. in 2003. She’s deeply concerned for her family—her mother
