KILLINGLY, Conn. (WTNH) -- A 65-year-old woman was charged in connection with a fatal shooting that happened in Killingly.

Michelle Yeagher of Killingly was charged with murder, carrying a firearm while under the influence, risk of injury to a child, and reckless endangerment.

Authorities responded to a report of a shooting around 9:21 p.m. Monday on Pratt Road.

At the scene, police found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest, according to state police.

The man was taken to an area hospital where he died, state police said.

State police said Yeagher was at the home and was "quickly" detailed.

Yeagher was held on a $1 million cash/surety bond. She was presented at Danielson Superior Court on Oct. 28.
