WOODLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — State police say Lakewood Public Schools in northeastern Barry County will be closed Wednesday as they investigate an "alleged threat."
Troopers have identified those involved, according to the Michigan State Police.
Out of "an abundance of caution," the superintendent decided to close the schools for the day, MSP said. Located in the Woodland/Lake Odessa area, the district includes Lakewood High School, Lakewood Middle School, Lakewood Elementary and Lakewood Early Childhood Center.
Investigators do not believe there is a threat to the public.
