A body was found Wednesday morning on Old Hammond Highway in Baton Rouge, EMS officials said.

The body, found on the highway at about 7:20 a.m. near Hammond Manor Drive, has not yet been identified as male or female.

The East Baton Rouge Coroner's Office was called to the scene.
