Cindy Myrex steamrolled to an overwhelming win in Alabama House District 12 on Tuesday, defeating Democrat Matt Glover 87.06% to 12.85%, according to the unofficial results from the Alabama Secretary of State’s office.

Turnout was roughly 2,234 voters.

Myrex’s landslide caps a hard-fought primary path to office. In July, she fell roughly two dozen votes shy, 49.8%, of avoiding a runoff before defeating Clint Hollingsworth in an August election 58.5% to 41.5%.

On Tuesday, Myrex put up major numbers in the crimson-red Cullman-area seat that former State Rep. Corey Harbison carried by over 85% in 2022.
