WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) - The Watertown City Council approved new refuse collection procedures on September 15 to enhance service efficiency and compliance with City Code Chapter 161.

The updated refuse and recycling guidelines will be effective December 1 and are designed to improve service efficiency, expand availability, and ensure compliance with city regulations.

Key changes include new containment requirements, where all rubbish must be contained in approved watertight trash or garbage cans.

The Department of Public Works will provide a tote sticker at no cost for residents to affix to their personal containers to verify authorization for curbside collection.
