A killer clown slinging snow cones from an ice cream truck; a gorilla crooning on stage in a negligee; a haunted bookcase inside a fortune teller’s lair; and a skeleton tightrope walking above it all — these are just four of the hundreds of frights and delights waiting all who dare enter this year’s festive Halloween display at 40 Oak Ave. in Riverside.

For about a dozen years now — although it’s hard to pinpoint exactly when the displays got so grand, since something spooky has been going on every one of the 18 years they’ve owned the Oak Avenue home — Kit Espada has been the mastermind and maestro behind the organized chaos that exists at what is known as the Oak Ave Haunt.
