Following Tuesday’s election, Ana Riley, Rhode Island’s Superintendent of the Year, was the 3rd highest vote recipient among the ten candidates vying for a spot on the Fall River School Board. Riley’s vote count of 5,277 was enough to earn her a seat on the body which just last year, chose a different candidate as their superintendent.
At the time, Riley noted that she wasn’t actively seeking an opportunity to leave Bristol Warren, where she took over as superintendent in November of 2021. However, when the job in Fall River became available, she had to at least put in an application. Riley is a long-time resident of Fall River and has held many positions in their schools over the years.
