MINNEAPOLIS — Following a litany of injuries plaguing the Minnesota Vikings at quarterback this year, the team announced it signed NFL vet John Wolford to the practice squad.
With his most recent stint at QB in Jacksonville, Wolford was released by the Jaguars earlier this year as part of their final cuts to the roster. Wolford has also spent time with the New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as well as three seasons with the Los Angeles Rams, two of which were under the helm of LA's then-quarterback coach Kevin O'Connell and pass game coordinator/tight ends coach Wes Phillips.
Wolford, 30, joins the roster after back-up quarterback Carson Wentz suffered a season-ending injury, stemming from a previous injury to his non-throwing arm. Wentz was brought in to start for J.J. McCarthy,
