Boys soccer: Creamer second-half goal lifts Chariho past Westerly in D2 preliminary round

WOOD RIVER JCT. — Mitchell Creamer broke a scoreless tie with 27:20 remaining in the second half as sixth-seeded Chariho (10-7-1) made it hold up the rest of the way on Tuesday night in rainy conditions for a 1-0 victory over No. 11 Westerly (6-12-2) in a Division 2 preliminary-round boys soccer game.
