A South Scotland MSP has criticised "arrogant" plans which she says could "silence communities".
Sharon Dowey made the comments after politicians at Westminster and Holyrood voted for new planning reforms which would remove the ability for communities to object in certain circumstances.
A legislative consent motion at the Scottish Parliament was approved ahead of Labour reforms which could stop public enquiries into planning applications being held when local councils object to plans which Scottish Ministers are responsible for deciding on.
