CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. —
Charleston County, South Carolina, reported nine overdoses, including one death, in just one day.

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office said the overdoses happened Monday.
The report said five overdoses, including a death, happened in the Ashley River Rd. area of West Ashley, three in North Charleston, and one in Mount Pleasant. They said the substances included crack and heroin.
The sheriff's office's Community Wellness Unit said it actively monitors the HIDTA Overdose Detection Mapping Application Program (OD MAP) to respond quickly to overdose incidents in the community.
